Who will be your agent
- California: BUIN CORP., a California registered corporate agent (Certificate 1505)
- Wyoming and other states: a vetted local agent partnering with BUIN. BUIN handles all communication
- In every state you pay BUIN CORP. and get receipts from BUIN; your bank statement will show BUIN
- The state records will list the agent company for that state, and that's how it should be

Common questions
Can I be my own agent?
Yes, if you have a California address and are there during business hours. But that address becomes public, and a missed lawsuit can lead to a default judgment.
How much does it cost?
$179 per year, one price for any state. State fees for forming a company or changing agents are separate.
How does renewal work and how do I cancel?
Service renews automatically once a year at $179 until you cancel. We'll email you before each charge. Cancel any time yourself in the billing portal (sign in with the email you paid with) or by writing to formation@tegfinancellc.com. When you cancel, remember to name a new agent with the state.
I don't live in California. Does it matter?
No. The agent is needed in the state where the company is registered, not where the owner lives. BUIN works for a California LLC even if you live in another state or country.
