Common questions
Which state should I form in?
Usually the state where you live and do business. A company formed elsewhere usually means registering and paying fees in two states instead of one.
How long does it take?
From a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the state. With an SSN, the EIN is usually issued online the same day.
Do I also need a business license?
Often yes: many cities and counties require their own license. I'll tell you what your city needs.
Not sure what fits you? Describe your situation and I'll tell you which forms, deadlines and documents apply. The first review is free.
